April has seen the delivery and insulation of our New Wood Burning Stove that will now reduce our wood waste down by 95% over night.

The Burner is linked to the extraction system from all machines and a large wood chipper that feeds to the 20 cubic meter silo, it then burns this to produce heat that can be then sent back into the factory to be used as heating or in to the atmosphere as hot air.

As this is a state of the art burner it gives off a smokeless, emission free gas as the wood chippings and shavings are burnt twice to eliminate any smoke making it extremely environmentally friendly. This has also meant that to heat the factory SHN are no long dependant on Gas meaning the CARBON FOOT PRINT has been hugely reduced.

The investment has been made as the company strive toward the 'Chain of Custody' certification which should be in place by summer 09 and 'ISO 14001' Certification shortly after.
